Who is MSS?

The Manufacturers Standardization Society (MSS) of the Valve and Fittings Industry is a non-profit technical association organized for development and improvement of industry, national and international codes and standards for Valves, Valve Actuators, Pipe Fittings, Valve Modification, Flanges, Pipe Hangers, and Associated Supports. MSS valve and fitting standards are in use around the world in a wide variety of facilities, including Nuclear Power Plants, and in virtually every industry, from Waste Water to Oil Refining. MSS currently includes 85 member companies that work in 25 technical committees to develop and maintain standards that shape the way flow is controlled. MSS is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-accredited standards developer.

ANSI Accreditation
As part of the American National Standards process, ANSI accredits the due process-based procedures of MSS, in addition, ANSI accreditation signifies that the procedures used by MSS meet the Institute's requirements for consensus, openness, balance, and due process.
